How To Export Chrome Bookmarks [2024]
Afternoon everyone, hope this new week is treating you well?
I recently had a client ask me a fairly simple question, ‘How To Export Chrome Bookmarks?’. But for some reason they just couple follow the documentation that Google and other websites have put out there. So I wanted to put my own spin on this to help them and others understand.
Before we start, I’ve also put this post on my website in case you prefer reading over there!
Introduction
So, you need to export your Google Chrome bookmarks? Then this is the post for you!
I’ll show you how to export your Chrome bookmarks so that you can import them again. This used to be a very useful process a couple years ago, in the days where if you reset your system without doing this then all your bookmarks would be lost forever. But in recent years, being signed into your Google account in Chrome negates having to do this.
As mentioned above, being signed in the Google Chrome means that your bookmarks and other settings are automatically backed up and synced to your other devices. Meaning manually export and importing your bookmarks is practically a thing of the past.
Even most web browsers today, will automatically import bookmarks from another browser when they open for the first time. Making this a very automatic and user friendly process.
